Exporting Your Video in Filmora X
A simple guide to saving and exporting your video project
Before you can share your masterpiece, you need to export it from Filmora X.
The process is straightforward, and this guide will walk you through the key steps.
1. Save Your Project
The very first step is to save your project. This is crucial and ensures you don’t lose any of your work.
- Go to the File tab at the top-left corner.
- Select Save Project.
2. Click Export
Once your project is saved, you can proceed with the export.
- Click the Export button.
- A pop-up window will appear. Here, you can give your video a file name and choose the location where you want to save it on your computer.
3. Adjust Settings
Next, you’ll want to fine-tune your video’s quality and format.
- Click the Settings button in the export window.
- You’ll see options to choose your video quality: “Best,” “Better,” or “Good.”
- For beginners, it’s best to stick with these default options. Advanced settings like bit rate and frame rate are generally not recommended for new users to adjust.
- Click OK to confirm your settings.
4. Choose Your Format
The export window also lets you select a video format. The best choice depends on where you plan to share your video.
Common Video Formats
- MP4: A widely used, versatile format compatible with most devices and platforms.
- WMV: Ideal for Windows-based platforms.
- HEVC: High-efficiency video coding that offers good quality with a smaller file size.
- AVI: An older format still used in some editing workflows.
- MOV: Apple’s format, commonly used on macOS.
- MKV: A flexible format that supports multiple audio tracks and subtitles.
- GIF: Perfect for short, soundless animations.
Less Common Formats
- F4V and FLV: Adobe Flash formats.
- TS: Mainly used for broadcasting.
- 3GP: Suitable for older mobile devices.
- MPEG-2: Used in DVDs.
- WebM: Often used for online streaming.
Audio-Only Export
- MP3: Use this if you only want to export the audio from your project.
5. Finalize the Export
After you’ve selected your desired format and settings, you’re ready to export.
- Click the final Export button.
- Filmora will begin rendering your video.
- Once the process is complete, you’ll be notified and can either open the folder to view your video or play it directly.
